Biography

Jonathon Michaels. Born Michael Jonathon McLaughlin in Bellshill, Scotland on June 13, He moved to London at the age of 5, with his Father and four older sisters. He quickly became involved with music, originally playing the Violin and Singing for his school, where he joined the school orchestra and became lead Violinist and although still a pupil had a good enough vocal range to also sing as part of the teachers choir. He joined St Georges Cathedral choir at the age of 8 as a 'Pueri Cantores' and remained there until the age of 17 achieving the status of Head Chorister which lasted for two years. During this period the Cathedral choir toured around Europe singing in famous landmarks including Notre Dame in Paris, St Marks Basilica, Venice and the Vatican Square, Rome, gaining a private audience with the Pope,and the following year, singing a solo for Pope John Paul II on Easter Sunday in Vatican Square.
