Biography

Louis Robert Thompson was born September 1, 1985 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He is an actor, singer and dancer best known for his role as the Veterinarian in Sundance Film Festival breakout The Art of Self Defense. He is also a fixture in Louisville theater community starring in roles such as Coach in Ghost, John Henry in American Tales, and Xerxes in Esther The Musical. Louis began acting in high school; his first role was a Jet in a production of West Side Story, which earned him the Distinguished Actor Award and Scholarship. He continued to act while studying criminal justice at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. After graduation, he returned to Louisville where he landed roles in a variety of stage productions that included All Shook Up (Derby Dinner Playhouse), Gospel Nativity (Rush Trowell Entertainment), A Well-Timed Christmas Murder, Specter at the Séance (both WhoDunnit Mystery Theater), Church Folk (Louisville Entertainment), and Money, Marriage and Misery
