Biography

Charmaine Bingwa is a Zimbabwean / Australian actor. She is known for playing Carmen Moyo on The Good Fight (2017). She appears in Antoine Fuqua's Emancipation (2022) as Dodienne, wife of Peter (Will Smith). She is next set to appear in Antoine Fuqua's historical epic King Shaka (2023). Her other credits include Netflix's Trees of Peace (2021) and Amazon's Black Box (2020). She won the Heath Ledger Scholarship (2018), Equity Atlantic Award (2018) and Sydney Theatre Award nomination (2017). Of her Good Fight casting, creators Michelle and Robert King said "We are thrilled that Charmaine is bringing her enormous talents to The Good Fight ensemble. The moment that we saw her audition, we knew that we had found our Carmen, and we can't wait to start writing for her in Season 5." Charmaine made history becoming the first person of color to be awarded the Heath Ledger Scholarship in its 10 year duration.
