Melanie Schinkel (aka Mel Stirling) is a Los Angeles-based Australian actor/singer-songwriter known for The Final Level (2016), The Lady Killers (2015), Jailbait (2014) and The Dog Who Saved Easter (2014). Mel has appeared in various commercial and independent releases in the United States and Australia. Mel was born just outside of Sydney but grew up on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia where she studied applied theatre, popular music production and journalism at Griffith University. Mel was also trained in screen acting techniques by the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Additionally, Mel is an independent alternative singer-songwriter who produces under the artist name, Mel Stirling. Throughout her music career, Mel has performed in various alternative bands and supported well-known Australian acts such as The Radiators, Killing Heidi, Grinspoon and The Butterfly Effect.
