Biography

Kate Bass is an American lyric soprano opera singer and actress based in New York City. She has appeared in principal roles in a number of Off-Broadway musicals at New York City Center, and the Atlantic Theater Company, as well as numerous performances at Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. She performed as Josephine in "H.M.S. Pinafore" at New York City Center, and as the Musical Guest for "24 Hour Plays" at the Atlantic Theater Company. She has performed twice at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center; both as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Case Scaglione, and in the Emmy-nominated production of "Carousel", televised on PBS's Live from Lincoln Center (1976). At Carnegie Hall she sung in "Der Vampyr", "The Messiah", "Verdi's Requiem", and "Elijah". She has also performed in "La Farsa Amarosa" at Alice Tully Hall, and in recital at the 92nd Street Y, The Austrian Cultural Forum, and the Museum of the City of New York, among others.
