Attended D.W. Daniel High School in Central, S.C., playing football for Head Coach Randy Robinson. Registered 57 receptions for 1,266 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense and 28 interceptions, returning five for touchdowns on defense. Had 11 punt returns for 289 yards and three touchdowns, along with two kickoff returns for 119 yards and one score as a senior. Rated the 12th-best receiver in the nation and the state's eighth-best overall prospect by Rivals.com, and was the 14th-ranked cornerback by Scout.com and ESPN rated him the 29th-best athlete. Super Prep's sixth-ranked athlete in the state, he received All-State first-team honors from the Charlotte Observer and The State, adding All-Southern honors from the Orlando Sentinel.
