Joanna M. Lewis

Joanna M. Lewis, (born Joanna Ellison) a military brat, and native of Monmouth County, New Jersey, is an actress and producer, known for House of Cards (2015), Gaslight (2022), Once Upon A Time In The District (2022). Joanna landed her first principal role as Beverly White, mother to Davarius White played by actor Tray Chaney in the movie 6 Hearts 1 Beat (2013), Directed and written by Frank E. Jackson Jr. Joanna began performing at an early age. She was especially drawn to singing, modeling, dancing and acting from the time she could walk and talk. She went from starring in elementary school plays, middle school talent competitions and fashion shows, to singing in the high school classroom at the request of her teacher and classmates. As a military dependent, Joanna landed acting roles in musical plays on military installations and sung on the praise and worship team in church. Joanna has two siblings, two adult daughters, to include two grandchildren. Joanna resides in the DMV.
