Julian Dennison

Julian Dennison (born October 26, 2002) is a New Zealand actor best known for his breakout role in Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), the highest-grossing New Zealand film of all time. He made his debut in Shopping (2013), winning Best Supporting Actor at the English Film and Television Awards. His international credits include Deadpool 2 (2018) as Firefist, The Christmas Chronicles 2 (2020), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), Uproar (2023), and How to Train Your Dragon (2025). Born in Lower Hutt, he is of Māori descent (Ngāti Hauā) and has a twin brother. Dennison first gained attention in a PSA directed by Taika Waititi, who later cast him in Wilderpeople. Known for his humor and depth, he has earned praise for his performances in both comedic and dramatic roles, notably calling Uproar the film where he "found his voice."
