Biography

Laura Pellegrini is an actress and filmmaker who has received training in both Stanislavsky and Meisner techniques at university. Upon graduating, Laura moved to the Big Apple and booked her first staged reading at MCC Theatre, as well as helped co-found an experimental Shakespeare troupe called Not an Original Theatre Company. Here, she helped produce two productions, as well as act in two lead roles in versions of both "Romeo + Juliet" and "Macbeth." In 2012, she played a supporting role in the short film "The Estate," directed by Nick Perlman, which went on to win an award at the Chain NYC Film Festival. After acting in a few more short films, she was offered her first lead in a feature film called "Home by Now," directed by Ash Yagnik, in November 2014. In 2016, Laura's self-produced, directed, and written short "In Parallel..." was an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival (2016).
