Biography

Ryan Monolopolus is a narrative director and SAG-AFTRA performer. Genres range action, drama, surrealism and comedy. Born in Buffalo, NY, Ryan began making films in childhood which led him to an international career in filmmaking. To date he's created productions from Atlanta to NY, LA to Berlin. He is a member of RiTE collective. Notable work includes the: spanglish thriller Muerte (2022), sci-fi GROBB (2019), civil war epic Shenandoah (2017), and award winning short Friends to the End (2017). Ryan often writes the work he directs, and specializes in Virtual Production, motion control robotics, puppetry, and tech-enabled filmmaking. In 2010 he released his first feature documentary Recovery (2014) on traumatic brain injury, which received worldwide distribution. To date Ryan has directed and produced several film projects, episodic series and shorts. His commercial work has been internationally broadcast, clients include Reebok, Mercy Flight, Act on Climate, World.org and PGA Tour.
