Biography

Maria Theresa Rodriguez was born to English mother Susan Hillier and Colombian father Jose Diego Rodriguez. With her parents not long after becoming separated, she lived with her mother and was raised in the small town of Alcester, Warwickshire although her father lived close by in Stratford-upon-Avon. From a very young age it was shown that Maria developed a strong passion for music and by the age of six her mother signed her up for piano tuition. Throughout her childhood she excelled musically, training with Stratford-Upon-Avon music center college learning Piano & violin. After 3 - 4 years however, she swapped out the four strings of the violin for six and at the age of thirteen, she got her 1st guitar. This eventually lead to her becoming a singer-songwriter performing in the band (co founded with friend Leila A) Gundogs and more recently performing as solo artist "MeMe Detroit".
