Biography

Jay Palmieri Jr. is an award-winning horror filmmaker based in New York and New Jersey. He has written/directed 11 short horror films and 2 feature films. His love for the horror genre truly began when he was 10 years old. Considers the John Carpenter and Debra Hill 1978 horror film, Halloween the film that inspired him to pursue a horror filmmaking career. During Jay's middle and high school years, he wrote and filmed over 51 short films for fun on his video camera with his friends as the cast. Once he graduated from high school, he attended the New York Film Academy. He graduated from NYFA in August 2011. Since graduating from NYFA, Jay has wrote/directed 11 films, 9 short films and 2 feature films. Including his award-winning LGBT horror films, Taste (2016) and Léa (2016), both starring Christina Toth ("Orange Is The New Black") in the lead roles. In 2021, he shot 4 films, his holiday horror short films: Carve (2021) and Carved (2021), along with his zoom horror short Digital Cove
