Biography

It's no surprise that Haskiri Velazquez acquired the "do it myself" attitude. Growing up in Washington Heights NY, she didn't have the resources she needed to succeed in her career, but she never gave up. With many pursuits outside of school, Haskiri attended a non-profit organization called Urban Arts Partnership, where she took their Lifestories Theater program. Her passion for Acting was known from the start as she would have busy school days and Auditions during the week, and during the weekends, she would attend her theater classes for about 6 hours a day (which, by the way, was about a two-hour subway ride to and from her home). Haskiri put on lots of black-box productions at Theater Row in Times Square and even at the Lucille Lortel Theater with her theater program where she captured her audiences. During this time, Haskiri had the opportunity to be directed by Gina Rodriguez, Jesse Williams, and Victor Maog. Though she started off as a theater kid, it wasn't long after her grad
