James Gunn’s 'Superman' Soars With Hope for a Fractured World

Superman begins with a scene normally left for some epic third-act twist: Our hero lies in the snow, bloody and bruised, minutes after he’s been defeated for the first time. His unruly yet lovable canine companion, Krypto, drags him to safety to his Arctic sanctuary, the Fortress of Solitude. It's a striking way to usher in a new cinematic era for the Man of Steel. He’s not just an unstoppable ico

Humanity is the real Superpower that makes Superman the greatest DC Super Hero!

Well well well. I thought it was going to be definitive for me that Henry Cavill was the epitome of the Man of Steel. He literally looks like he's made out of steel. But here comes James Gunn and David Corenswet locking on target with the heat vision at their bold take on Superman!! Let me get the frustration out of the way first. While it has nothing to do with the movie itself, but more in how t

Supplanting Superman: A Faltering Reboot in Search of First Principles

I think, therefore I am offered René Descartes a rock on which to build a metaphysics. Superman 2025 was supposed to give James Gunn an equally unshakable cornerstone for a fresh DC universe. Instead, the film looks around for a footing, finds none, and sinks beneath the silt of its own ambitions. From the first scene it is clear that Gunn wants relevance more than resonance. The script darts afte
Ishika: I cant get over that Bts pic. If you want real Sean Gunn, watch him as Kirk on Gilmore girls.

DC discovered the anti-Snyder formula: "Super + Gunn"

Yes. I know. Bad Joke. The title sounds pretty strange, and it might even seem like it was pulled from one of those jokes craving approval and recognition to exhaustion in a James Gunn movie — but it's not. It's just a small declaration of self-love from this director, of his rising and unstoppable fame… and of acknowledging himself as the true and only savior of DC on the big screen after the mon

Isabela Merced Shines as Dina in TLOU S2

I’m a huge fan of The Last of Us. In its brutal, despairing, and shattered world, especially after Joel’s death, Ellie’s life is consumed by pain and vengeance. Against such relentless darkness, Dina stands out as a vital presence. She’s like a ray of light, Ellie’s near-sole source of connection and support amid overwhelming grief. Honestly, without Dina, I can’t imagine how Ellie could face such

The Last Of Us - Season :02 (2025) - Review

Review of The Last of Us Season 2 (2025) – ★★★½ (3.5/5) The Last of Us Season 2 returns with all the haunting beauty and emotional devastation fans expect—but this time, it’s a bit of a slow burn, for better and worse. From a technical standpoint, this season is nothing short of breathtaking. The prosthetics and VFX work are extraordinary, especially in the design and animation of the infected. Ev

From the Vault Review: 'Alien: Romulus'

Author's note: This is a throwback review and I've watched this film several times since I wrote this initially. After many years of no films in the Alien franchise and what folks considered to be a letdown with Alien: Covenant, a return to form was necessary. Rather than shuffle ahead into the future, we’re sent back to a timeline between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) with Alien: Romulus. Thanks
