Biography

Monique Dismuke, Bay Area born and raised is the second child of Berkeley's first black fire captain, Wayne Dismuke and a beautician mother Yvonne Dismuke. Monique discovered at an early age that acting, and writing were where her passions lie, and began to endlessly pursue them. She caught the acting bug while on the set of a short film soon after graduating high school. Monique's most recent film work includes Fruitvale Station the movie that chronicles Oscar Grant's last days leading up to his killing on New Years, ID Channel's I (Almost) Got Away With It, and 50 Ways to Lose Your Lover(hosted by Wendy Williams). Since her debut in the in '96 stage play "The Gift of the Magpies" Monique has acquired many years of theatrical experience including the Life of Marvin Gaye as character Martha Reeves. Her most recent lead role was in the gospel stage play entitled 'Never Too Late', in which she played the abused wife/mother of three, while also starring in numerous independent feature/ sh
