Biography

Cathryn Dylan, born as Cathryn Dylan Ortiz, was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA by her Mexican mother, Actress Ana Alicia Ortiz, and American father, Producer Gary R. Benz. Cathryn grew up acting, dancing, and playing competitive soccer. She graduated from The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks and went on to receive her BFA in Acting from Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama where she was awarded Excellence in Ensemble Acting from the Kennedy Center. Since graduating college, Cathryn can be seen on hit TV shows such as "Grey's Anatomy", "Law and Order: SVU", and "Ray Donovan". In 2018, Cathryn shot a pilot for Fox 21 and Hulu based on Brett Easton Ellis's debut novel, "Less Than Zero," and has since made her LA stage debut at the Odyssey Theatre, originating the role of Mary Jo Kopechne in Peter Lefcourt's world premiere of "The Death and Life of Mary Jo Kopechne." Cathryn is in development of a new drama series she co-created, "Catch & Release."
