Biography

Dr. Goldfarb is a physicist working for the University of Melbourne on the ATLAS Experiment at CERN. He received a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1985, and a Ph.D. in Physics in 1991 for his work on the L3 Experiment at CERN. From 1992 to 1998, Dr. Goldfarb continued work on the L3 Experiment, with Northeastern University and the University of Lausanne, before coming to the ATLAS Experiment on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for the University of Michigan. He began coordinating U.S. undergraduate programs at CERN for Michigan in1998 and contributing to public education and outreach for the University of Melbourne in 2015. Dr. Goldfarb has spearheaded several projects to promote fundamental research worldwide, including the ATLAS Virtual Visit program, International Masterclasses, and the ATLAS public web pages.
