Biography

Drummer Daniel Sadownick was born on May 2 in the Bronx, New York City. Inspired to become a drummer by the conga players that he saw performing in Washington Square Park, Sadownick played drums in both his high school jazz and concert bands. Daniel studied composition and eventually earned a Master's Degree in Musical Education from New York University in the late 1980's. Following graduation from NYU, Sadownick went on to tour with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra for two years. Daniel plays drums in a variety of musical styles that include soul, pop, jazz, R&B, Latin, Haitian, and Afro-Cuban. Moreover, Sadownick has played drums for such notable artists as Steely Dan, Angie Stone, Jennifer Lopez, Dewey Redman, Billy Idol, Dianne Reeves, Taylor Swift, Bette Midler, Nat Adderley, and Nicholas Payton. Daniel released the solo album "There Will Be a Day" in 2008.
