Gillian Dean

She/her. Gillian was born in London and spent the early part of her life in West Sussex before moving to Norwich, UK. She has a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Theatre from De Montfort University. In addition to her television and film work, Gillian has performed in a variety of theatrical productions, ranging from musical, promenade Shakespeare on the side of a gale-torn Welsh mountain to political, new writing at the Royal National Theatre, London. Her parents, both scientists are endlessly supportive of, if occasionally baffled by, her career , though they prefer not to watch anything in which she gets killed or beaten up. This does not stop her taking these roles. Gillian is in a long-term relationship with fellow actor, songwriter and singer Leighton Melville. Gillian is severely sight-impaired due to a degenerative, genetic condition. The nature of her conditions means that it may not always seem to others that she is a disabled person but she is one and is damn proud of it. As she s
