Petey Pete

Peterson Sylvert (better known as Petey Pete) was born in Haiti on November 13, 1985, and is the oldest child out of four siblings. At the tender age of five his mom and dad sent him to the United States of America to have a better life and to be successful. He lived with many families until he was soon adopted to a great family and resided in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There he found his love for basketball, stories and watching movies. In 2004 he graduated from Pompano Beach High school, and two years later Sylvert decided to pursue his education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University studying Broadcast/Journalism. Like any freshman in college trying to find out whom they are, Sylvert always had a burning desire to be a filmmaker since youth. His freshman year on campus he volunteered with FAMU TV 20, the university's local television station, functioning as a videographer and audio technician. Sylvert went above and beyond many students as far as volunteering on weekends
