Biography

Aside from numerous appearances in sketches, singing troupes, and bands, Kirt Purdy's first serious charge to the stage was in 1985 as Fagin in a musical adaptation of "Oliver!". Since that time, he has performed across Canada in a variety of playhouses, and in a plethora of styles. While teaching in Alberta, Kirt continued to pursue his dream of acting in film and television by traveling to Vancouver in the summer months to audition for student productions and independent films. This tenacity paid off, as he gained six roles in ten auditions, including two independent feature films. Kirt was an active member of a community theatre company in Alberta, and worked backstage on other plays, and performed in three. His leading role as "Alex" in "The Other Side of the Pole", written by Stephen Heatley, was met with critical acclaim.
