Jules Elting

Jules* Elting is a trans non-binary actor, performer, dancer and singer. Born in Hamburg, Germany they studied dance in NYC and acting at the university "Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig, Germany. After a classical theatre career in German state theater they have been working for 10 years in São Paulo/Brazil as company member of the known "Teatro Oficina". Since 2015 they began an emerging career in international art house cinema, filming in South-America and Europe. Their work has been shown at many international film festivals such as Berlinale, Locarno, Indie Lisboa and Rotterdam. Jules Elting is known for the role of the Amazone Diana in "The Ornithologist" by João Pedro Rodrigues (Silver Leopard/Locarno). "King Car" by Renata Pinheiro with Jules* as Mercedes, one of the lead characters aside Matheus Nachtergaele had it's world premiere in competition at IFFR International Film Festival Rotterdam 2021 and released 01/2022 in U.S. cinemas.
