Janis Ahern

Janis Ahern was born Janis Reno in Upstate New York. She is the great granddaughter of Ferdinand (Frank) Renaud who changed his name to Reno upon opening Reno's Pavillion during the time of Prohibition. Janis graduated from Hartwick College with 2 Majors - both in English Literature & Theatre. Also a singer - Janis toured a year with the Miss NY State USO troupe. She was a summer apprentice at the Dorset Theatre Festival in Dorset,Vermont where she received her Equity card. Janis' professional debut was as Sally Bowles opposite acclaimed Baritone Dwayne Croft. In NYC Janis trained at HB studios with Bill Hickey & Uta Hagen and at the Lee Strasberg studios. She is based in London and has 2 children with husband actor Tim Ahern.
