Biography

Jesse Charles Friedman grew up rock climbing in the Delaware Water Gap and chanting Torah at Adath Shalom synagogue in New Jersey. He made his stage debut in the starring role of Alan in Equus at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans, for which he was nominated for a Big Easy Award, the city's highest honor for performers. A fluent Spanish speaker, Jesse completed his undergraduate education at the University of Havana, in Cuba. After training at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, he was selected as a Fulbright scholar and began teaching Shakespeare and contemporary drama in Uruguay. He then earned his Masters degree at Harvard's Institute for Advanced Theater Training, during which time he also trained and performed at the storied Moscow Art Theater. There, Jesse worked under the disciples of Stanislavsky, before returning to Massachusetts to work as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard, focusing in Voice and Speech.
