André Morais

André Morais, born in João Pessoa, Paraíba, is an actor, director, and screenwriter with a focus on authorial cinema. He began his career with short films, with Alma screened at over twenty festivals nationally and internationally, receiving Best Short at the Toronto Latin American Film Festival. His first feature, Rebento, premiered at the Tiradentes Film Festival and earned more than thirty awards worldwide, including in India, the United States, and Italy. His second feature, Malaika, reflects his ongoing exploration of filmmaking and narrative development. In addition, he develops music in collaboration with prominent Brazilian popular musicians and has created works combining performance and literature, touring nationally with stage presentations.
