Mauricio Hidalgo

Mauricio Hidalgo, who recently appeared in a recurring role on AMC's Dispatches from Elsewhere with Sally Field and Jason Segal, was born in Bay Shore, New York to Nena Chavez, a homemaker and Edison Hidalgo, a CNC machinist. He had a happy childhood, growing up with his siblings in the Bay Shore suburb. At the age of 14 his family moved to the neighboring town of Brentwood where Mauricio attended Brentwood Ross High School. There he became interested in singing, acting and performing, joining the school's choir and musical. After high school graduation, he spent the summer studying abroad at the ITV Institute in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where he majored in acting and theatre arts. While in Ecuador, Mauricio toured with a professional regional theatre company and worked in commercials, television and independent films. Mauricio returned to New York in 2007.
