Biography

Sh'Kia is an American actress, writer, producer, and singer born to an African American mother and Jamaican father. She was born and raised in small-town Oakland, Florida, where she began singing in the church choir from a young age. Sh'Kia started playing the flute in middle school and attended Florida Atlantic University on a music/band scholarship. She went on to graduate with a BBA in finance and music business. Her writing journey began at FAU during her tenure as the President of the Black Student Union. She co-wrote and directed a stage play titled "The Makings of a Man: Penis Monologues," which was performed for the student body. Since then, her pilot scripts have placed in various screenplay competitions, including as a Quarterfinalist in Screencraft. After graduating, she began performing in community theaters and local film productions, writing, producing, and starring in her own web series and short films.
