Wayra Velásquez

Wayra Ana Velásquez is a writer, photographer, and art director. She has a Master's Degree in Literature with a mention in Creative Writing from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (2023), and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication with a mention in Development from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (2020). From 2015 to 2020 she has made several television reports as a scriptwriter, producer, bilingual presenter, cameraman, interviewer, and editor for the program Bajo un Mismo Sol of the production company APAK. In 2021 she wrote and published her first poetry book "Muskuykuna" which gathers the wisdom, dreams, and daily life of the communities in verses. In 2022, he was the Director of Photography for the film "Vacations" produced by Ayllurec and the Humazapas Collective. She is also involved in the world of stop motion animation as Art Director and Animator in the video clip Nangulví produced by RUNAnimation. She is currently working on several audiovisual projects with other filmmakers and is writing her first fiction novel.
