Buffalonians Is a Docu-dramedy, an Immigrant story about an Irishmen sent to America to save his family from poverty. A true-story of many Buffalo, NY immigrant families melded into one. Then, there is the second level of story that reveals the history of Buffalo, as the backdrop to the main theme of the film. - All of it is told in flashbacks like Forrest Gump or Benjamin Button. A parentless young man named Liam Sheehan leaves all that he knows, his country, and his siblings behind in Ireland. As so many have before him, he comes to America to seek his fortune. He embarks upon a journey that takes him to the land where it's said the streets are paved with gold. In his later years, he finds comfort in the little city that could, because of the kindred spirit he feels for it, and the love and devotion of his family. - This is a Capraesque film, a fictional story about an Irishmen who comes to America in the late 1930s to attend college at first. He was sent by the family to America to pave the way. But if you want God to laugh, tell him your plans. Liam is a principled man and honorable, the way he was raised to be. He meets a beautiful Italian girl and sparks fly. Plans change. He stays in Buffalo and builds a life in the bustling city, raises his family, and lives his life well.
