In the first of two debates as part of the BBC Peacemakers season, The World Debate: Is Conflict Inevitable? comes from Denver, Colorado. Five eminent Nobel Peace Laureates sit on the panel, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet; Iranian lawyer and human rights activist Shirin Ebadi; and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. They discuss the problem of conflict resolution and whether conflicts can ever be resolved through peaceful means. BBC World presenter Zeinab Badawi hosts the debate with an audience made up of 180 young people representing more than 20 countries.
