Love's a Bitch, and Then You Die (2011)

Phil de Guzman is a Filipino orphan who, upon release from a mental hospital, struggles with loneliness until he becomes infatuated with his friend's cleaning lady. His best friend Nathan is trying to deal with his breakup to longtime girlfriend, Amy. Candice and Stephon are a couple of suburban hipsters working through their own relationship problems. Love's a Bitch (and then you die) is a caustic ode to the indie love of the new millennium. Shot in 20 days for a budget less than $1,000 the film explores the deathly serious nature of young people in love.
