Storyline:  At La Marine Bar in Marseille’s Old Port, Marius dreams of leaving on a ship while Fanny, secretly in love with him, longs for his affection. When offered a chance to sail, he hesitates between the call of the sea and his bond with Fanny, who provokes his jealousy to keep him near. After they confess their feelings, Marius prepares to marry her but ultimately chooses the sea. Fanny, heartbroken, convinces him to go and conceals his departure from César.
