Just back from a harrowing tour of combat duty in Afghanistan, the "sand Box," DOUG is trying his best to re-connect with his wife, SUZY, and revive his failing cable business, which has fallen on hard times during his deployment. Full of shrapnel and bad dreams, Doug is having a hard time holding his fragmented psyche together. And when his old combat buddy, CARLOS, re-enters his life, all the old paranoia and bad memories come pouring back in. But are those terrible dreams of murder and mayhem really just nightmares, or has a vicious killer been unleashed to murder those nearest and dearest to Doug?
