Should've Been Romeo (2012)

Joey Tucker has had enough. Enough of watching his dreams of making it as a real Hollywood actor slowly disappear like the last few hairs on his 40+ year-old head. Enough of being rich and famous for wearing a life sized potato chip costume as Mr. Dippy, the spokesman for Dippy double dip potato chips. Enough of listening to his neurotic New York mother complain about how he's always ignoring his family. Enough of waking up each morning feeling so lost... and that's when things really get bad. In a matter of days, Joey's life is turned upside down. He's fired from Mr. Dippy, and his agent tells him his career is over unless he can somehow pull off the audition of his life and land the lead role in a huge new HBO series - it's a one in a million shot. But after Joey forgets his grandfather's 80th birthday, he's distracted when his mother drops off a little present for him - a new roommate... his Grandpa. As if trying to deal with a downward spiraling career and an old world Grandpa wasn't enough, Joey then gets hit with the biggest surprise of his life: TJ, a handsome young black kid, who shows up with Billie, a precocious five year-old girl, to announce that Joey is TJ's father and Billie's grandfather. As Joey struggles to deal with all this news at once, while still desperately trying to hold onto the hopes of a career, he's forced to examine his life, to find out what really matters most. As he does, we learn the value of family, we feel the strength of love and relationships across five generations, and we witness the unraveling and eventual rebirth of Joey, who spent his life caring only about himself, and in a few short days becomes a father, a grandfather, a grandson, a good son, and the man he never knew he wanted to be.
