Storyline:  Ward Jansen, a star reporter from Miami, returns to his hometown with colleague Yardley to investigate a racially charged murder case. His younger brother Jack, back home after failing at university, becomes their driver in hopes of finding direction. Their work uncovers deep racial tensions, but complications arise when Charlotte, the fiancée of the imprisoned convict, ignites in Jack a dangerous mix of lust and love. As the investigation digs deeper, buried issues of prejudice and desire threaten to destroy everyone involved.
