Storyline:  Based on the autobiographical book Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston, the film tells the story of the climber, played by James Franco, who after an accident in Robbers Roost National Park, Utah, becomes trapped among the rocks with no way to call for help. With limited resources, he documents his escape attempts and faces days of isolation while challenging his own physical and mental limits.
