Winter's Bone (2010)7.6 /10

Storyline:  Set in rural USA, the film follows 17-year-old Ree Dolly as she cares for her mentally ill mother and two younger siblings. When her father disappears after his conditional probation for selling methamphetamines, Ree faces the possibility of losing her home if he doesn't show up for court, which speaks of the importance of the search. A film told with a great dramatic pulse by director Debra Granik, with no low blows and great performances by Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes.
