When Hansi Sandgruber is out and about in the woods around his Tyrolean hometown of Schönbichl, he observes a poacher from afar. However, due to the great distance, he cannot identify who the shooter is. Shortly thereafter, he meets the likeable Lisa, who works as a nurse in a nursing home. But then he accidentally discovers hunting tools in Lisa's luggage - should she be the poacher? Hansi hopes that the new mayor, Lois Mostberger, will help him find the deer. However, he shows little interest in the case - the vain Mostberger uses all his energy on a lucrative and prestigious project of the unscrupulous businesswoman Viktoria Perterer: She wants to bring mass tourism to Schönbichl with a covered ski slope. And in the charming Baron Friedrich von Lien, Viktoria seems to have found a financially strong investor. In order to clear the way for the gigantic project, the mayor even wants to demolish the community's old people's home. Hansi's wife, the TV reporter Christl, tries to draw public attention to the scandalous project with a critical report. When the baron falls in love with the attractive and idealistic geriatric nurse Lisa, the scheming Viktoria devises a plan in order not to lose her main investor. With Mostberger's help, she sets the wrong track and raises the suspicion that Lisa is actually the poacher she is looking for. The calculation seems to work: Lisa is taken into custody by the police. However, Hansi, his sister Kathl, Christl and Irmi suspect that something is not right in the case. With a clever trick, they succeed in proving Lisa's innocence, in convicting the real game shooter - and in saving the retirement home from demolition.
