The girl views through a window a mother above her dying child being told by a doctor that her child will not survive from the bites of snake pits. Doctor leaves and mother is alone with unconscious child. Screams desperately at child to "wake up or they will chop you up"- embraces child showing notable vomit from a near lifeless young face.

a man is stabbed by a sword right through the heart; blood gushes from the wound, and there is a very graphic sound as the sword goes through him and sticks out the front of his body.

Many characters deaths are depicted as them "giving up"- a concept that the child asks "why did they kill themselves? Why are we running away?" The question isn't answered, nor is any consolation given towards the child.
