Storyline:  Nathan Algren, a veteran hired to train Japan’s new Imperial Army, survives a failed campaign against Katsumoto’s samurai and is taken captive. As he recovers, he gains insight into their discipline and becomes involved in Katsumoto’s effort to preserve Bushido. When Omura imposes harsher measures, Algren faces a decision as both sides prepare for another confrontation.
