Storyline:  In May 1948, days before the State of Israel is declared, a ship carrying Holocaust survivors arrives in Palestine. British forces try to block their landing while the Jewish underground fights to aid them. A few manage to reach shore, only to be sent directly into the escalating conflict with Arab forces.
