Storyline:  Set in a small coastal town on the Bay of Somme, the film follows Paul, a lifeguard in summer and grocery clerk in winter; his mother Rose, who spends her time at slot machines; and his girlfriend Marie, who works at the local factory but grows restless watching vacationers. Through their lives and others, the community appears caught between transition and stasis.
