Two teen boys are told to pull their pants and underwear down and expose themselves to a group of adults to be inspected. The camera pans from the boys faces all the way down to their crotches and their penises shown in clear view.

Many sexual acts are shown or talked about (graphically) at one time or another, but usually without showing direct sexual contact; acts include sodomy, coprophilia, transvestism, S&M, rape, and masturbation.

A young woman commits suicide to escape the degradation and abuse by jumping out a window. While we do not see the impact, blood is shown next to her. This lasts for a few seconds.

A young man is whipped on the back several times after not "begging like a dog."

We can see people being hung on nooses; this is only from a distance though.

This film contains the most uses of the word "fuck" out of any major Hollywood film in history, as well as being the most profane major Hollywood movie of all time, with the word being said a total of 569 times.

The movie describes the effect of taking Quaaludes, and one sequence is dedicated to a memorable night in which he takes an extra-strong dose. The character's closest friend is also a heavy drug user. Cigarette smoking is shown, as well. At the end of the movie, it's suggested that he's cleaned up and become sober.

During almost the entire runtime Jordan and his associates consume mass amounts of Quaaludes, Cocaine, and other drugs.
