Storyline:  In June 1940, as German forces advance on Paris, Odile, a widowed teacher, flees south with her two children. After an air attack leaves them stranded, a teenage boy named Yvan guides them to shelter in an abandoned house. Isolated from the world, Odile and her children depend on his survival skills, while their uneasy cohabitation forces them to face hidden fears and desires.
