A gun is hidden into a teen's bag. A woman finds it and slips on water with it in her hand. She fires it on accident and then throws it into a lake. (If you watch the Feature Films For Families version, this scene in not included.) Some gang violence too.

Even though it's a Christian movie, Wesley swears and Mattie criticizes it- hell, damn, ass, and such is said. No F words. Once Mattie's son profanely shouts "Christ Almighty!" and she criticizes him. Other abuses of God's names, which are criticized.

Some smoking, Mattie discourages Wesley from doing it.

Some intense scenes, like Wesley running away or a scene with a gun, but nothing too serious. It's PG-13 for the swearing and some violence.
