Storyline:  Mongryong secretly marries Chunhyang, daughter of a courtesan, before leaving Namwon for Seoul to complete his exams. When the new Governor Byun demands Chunhyang’s obedience, she refuses and is imprisoned. Years later, Mongryong returns as a royal emissary, disguised as a beggar, in time to save her from execution.
