Storyline:  In 1927, Fegele is separated from her father, a Jewish singer who emigrates to America. Sent to England, she is renamed Suzie and grows up distant from her roots. As an adult, she works as a singer in Paris, where she befriends showgirl Lola and falls for gypsy horseman Cesar. Their lives are shaken as war approaches, while Suzie still longs to reunite with her father.
