Storyline:  Anton Ludvik, known as Gerard, serves as vice-minister of Foreign Affairs in Czechoslovakia. After realizing he is being watched, he is suddenly arrested and held in solitary confinement. Subjected to relentless psychological manipulation and interrogation, the loyal party member is broken down and coerced into confessing to crimes of treason.
