Storyline:  A razor-sharp dark satire follows Putney Swope, the token Black man on the executive board of a powerful Madison Avenue advertising firm, who is accidentally elected chairman after his white colleagues assume no one else will vote for him. Renaming the agency “Truth and Soul, Inc.”, he replaces the old guard of wealthy white executives with his militant brothers, tearing down the hollow world of consumerism with radical new campaigns. Yet as the money and influence mount, the intoxicating pull of power begins to corrupt Putney himself, blurring the line between rebellion and hypocrisy.
