Storyline:  At Oxford, philosophy professor Stephen lives a frustrated domestic life and grows attracted to his student Anna von Graz. She becomes involved with fellow student William and later with Stephen’s colleague Charley. When these relationships collapse, Anna’s presence unsettles the academic circle and forces Stephen to confront his failures.
